Carpal tunnel syndrome (or CTS) is a common ailment which affects thousands of white collar workers and older adults annually. A result of repetitive motions such as extensive keyboard use, the condition develops as tissues swell in the carpal tunnel of the hand and wrist.

This swelling pushes tendons and ligaments into the median nerve and leads to substantial pressure buildup. This resulting pressure can lead to numerous unpleasant symptoms such as numbness or tingling in the hands as well as constant pain. Treatment options for CTS may include steroid injections, rest, or even surgery.
